Fantasy Landscape Compilation

This was a personal exploration of creating environments using Gaea, World Creator, Cinema 4D and Redshift. I created 3 separate environments with the intention to transition between them in an interesting way. I thought this might make for a fun series if I continue down the environment creation path with my animations.

Desert Landscape

The first landscape in this series is a desert. This was my first experience learning World Creator and I loved the ripples I was able to create in the sand. I also used the pyramid from Kitbash3d and some plants from Forester. This was also good practice for my lookdev in postproduction since I had to color correct many elements to try and get a sky that wasn’t too blown out.

Jungle Landscape

Since my previous landscape was mostly focused on the terrain, I tried to focus more on vegetation this round. I went the opposite of a dry desert this time and made a dense and lush forest with palms and eucalyptus tree models from forester. This was a good lesson in scattering and placement. I also found some pyramid models and learned how to add some mist and fog to create depth in the composition.

Arctic Sci-Fi Landscape

I went for a cooler composition with this final landscape since the previous two were warmer regions. I focused on both creating assets for the landscape myself as well as adding and blending models the Quixel library. Much of the effects in this one were done in post to add to the quality such as snow and the laser. I think this was one of the most fun pieces to create in 3D.
